When it comes to tourism, Southern Leyte may not have been fully boomed yet. The good thing about this is that most of the scenic spots are not yet spoiled, thus, providing us a better experience getting us closer to nature.
Molopolo White Beach, Liloan, Southern Leyte
Molopolo White Beach is located in Barangay Molopolo, Liloan, Southern Leyte. Its 100.6 km from Maasin City (Southern Leytes capital) via Bato-Bontoc Road. You have to pass the Liloan-St. Bernard crossing. It takes about 10 minutes to get to Barangay Molopolo from the national highway. You should take note that this barangay is just before the town proper; thus if you have passed through the Liloan bridge, you are lost. If you are riding a bus, ask the conductor you are going to Molopolo.
The islets are perfect for cliff diving. You can also bring your snorkeling gear and see beautiful corals near the islets. Be careful in getting to the islets as the rocks are sharp.

Tatay Ade Beach Resort
Tatay Ade Beach Resort, located in Buscayan town in Macrohon, is a powdery paradise in Southern Leyte. Entrance is free, and locals enjoy the clean, unobstructed shores and pristine waters on this side of the coast.
Cottages cost Php100 each. It has a table, side benches, roof and sand on your feet. There is one (1) overnight cottage for around Php300. It’s a room by the beach, made of native materials, and there are probably electrical sockets and beddings for your convenience. Not en-suite bathroom though. Use the common toilet.

Tangkaan beach resort
Tangkaan Beach! Located in Brgy. Tangkaan, Padre Burgos, this public beach is a perfect spot to see Limasawa Island from afar.
tables available at 100 pesos. Since the concrete tables are limited, the local barangay managing the beach also has folding tables available for rent. I think the price is 50 pesos plus 2 free chairs. Additional fee for additional chairs.
If you think you are up for a shortstop or if you decide not to use any of the tables, you may do so (just pay for the entrance fee as a way of helping the barangay in maintaining the cleanliness of the area).

Bitoon beach
Bitoon Beach Brgy. San Roque, Liloan, Southern Leyte, has powdery white sand just like Molopolo beach. The water is translucently crystalline but bristly sea urchins lie underneath. Make sure to wear aqua shoes if you dont know how to swim or float.

Dak dak beach resort
Limasawa, Southern Leyte is almost an hour from Padre Burgos pier. The island life is so relaxing especially if you stay overnight… The most conducive resort is Dak Dak Resort. They have aircon rooms and cottages. The resort is personally managed my Nanay Nucring, the owner. The place is well kept and clean. A must visit resort for those who loves peace and serenity!

Lagoon resort
There’s another ₱10 gate pass to the Island Lagoon resort and an entrance fee of ₱ 20. Aside from snorkeling, another favorite activity here is cliff jumping. There are tables for rent at ₱ 100 and floaters for ₱ 50.

San Pedro Island or Cabugan Grande
San Pedro Island is I think an elongated version of San Pablo Island. There are lots of inhabitants here. There’s a school on this island too.
I think the beach in San Pedro Island is better than San Pablo Island.

San Pablo Island or Cabugan Chico
Upon reaching San Pablo island, I was actually amazed at how beautiful it is. From Calag-itan beach, you can already see the islands white sandy beach. Upon closeup, its even more beautiful!
San Pablo is smaller than San Pedro. What I did observe is that there are lots of resorts here. I think this is less inhabited than San Pedro.

Calag-itan Beach
So what we did is that we decided to go to a public beach in Brgy. Calag-itan. My friend borrowed a table and some chairs from the Brgy. Hall (she knew someone in that Brgy). Its a public beach, no entrance to be paid. Theres also a good spot to park our vehicle. The downside is that it has no comfort room nearby. However, dont be shy to use the bathroom in their barangay hall. Be friendly with the locals.

An-an beach resort
Barangay An-an is a mountain-beside-the-sea village located in the town of Hinundayan, Southern Leyte, just next to Hinunangan. To get there from Tacloban City, board any PUVs bound for San Juan, Southern Leyte via Silago (Tip: Grand Tours, at P150.00 per head).
There are two ways to get to An-an Beach, the first is to ride a motorcycle taxi from the town proper (called locally as habal-habal) thru a mountainous terrain, or by renting motorized bancas/boats.
The best way to get there is the second option. Riding a boat to get there not only is faster, but also gives you the chance to see all the seaside rock formations in the area.
There are no regular boat trips to get there, so you’d have to rent a private boat. We got to Hinundayan Public Market, and went to see Manong Landoy, who has his own banca. We rented it for P1,500.00, all-in, which carries around 8-10 people.
The boat ride there will take around 15-20 minutes. In just your first 5 minutes, you’ll immediately see some of the beautiful rock formations carved by the sea thru millions of years.
